Person
ইংরেজি বাক্যে আমরা বিভিন্ন ধরনের subject দেখতে পাই। sentence-এ ব্যবহৃত এই বিভিন্ন ধরনের subject বা কর্তাকে ইংরেজিতে person বলে।
Person তিন প্রকার। যথা:
1. First Person (উত্তম পুরুষ) – I, we, me, my, our, ours, mine
2. Second Person (মধ্যম পুরুষ) – You, your, yours
3. Third Person (নাম পুরুষ) – He, she, they, it etc.
1. First Person (উত্তম পুরুষ): বাক্যে আমার সাথে সম্পর্কিত শব্দগুলোকে first person বা উত্তম পুরুষ বলে। যেমন: I, we, my, our, me, us ইত্যাদি। যেমন:
I love Allah. We are friends. My favorite color is black.
2. Second Person (মধ্যম পুরুষ): Sentence বা বাক্যে তোমার সাথে সম্পর্কিত শব্দগুলোকে second person বা মধ্যম পুরুষ বলে। যেমন: You, your, yours ইত্যাদি। যেমন:
You are a businessman. I will never forget your help. Is this car yours?
3. Third Person (নাম পুরুষ): I, we, you ছাড়া বাকি সব third person. অর্থাৎ, first person ও second person ব্যতীত সকল person কে third person বলে। যেমন: He, she, it, friend, they, birds ইত্যাদি। যেমন:
He is my brother. She studies in Somonia Arabic Madrasah. It was a beautiful day.
Third person আবার দুই প্রকার। যথা:
1. Third person singular: Third person এর যে শব্দগুলো দ্বরা একজন ব্যক্তি বা একটি বস্তুকে বুঝায় তাকে Third person singular বলে। যেমন: He, the boy, the table ইত্যাদি।
2. Third person plural: Third person এর যে শব্দগুলো দ্বরা একের অধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বুঝায় তাকে Third person plural বলে। যেমন: They, boys, brothers, tables ইত্যাদি।
